On November 3rd, the Moderne Communications team headed west to Las Vegas for the 2014 Event Tech Conference hosted by Event Marketer Magazine. For two days, we were immersed in the latest technology that can enhance your events, analytics and insights to help you optimize events and platforms, and offer the ease to “do it all” in one place.
The Keynote “The Viral Video Manifesto” started the day off right with the 4 principles to creating contagious content and successful viral videos:
- Be True – don’t fake it. Overly produced videos don’t feel authentic and therefore are not as “real.”
- Don’t waste your audience’s time – give them what they are looking for and hook them in the first 10 seconds. Wasting time on setting up the story or punchline isn’t necessary.
- Be unforgettable and go to extremes – take risks, be bold!
- Ultimately it boils down to humanity. Touching on the human element and emotionally connecting with people in real and authentic ways will take your video far.

ALASKA AIRLINE'S 12TH FAN AIRLIFT SWEEPSTAKES
As part of their "12th Fan Airlift" Sweepstakes, Alaska Airlines and NFL Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson teamed up to send 56 randomly selected winners and their guests to an exclusive Super Bowl XLVIII game day party at the Royalton Hotel in Manhattan. Winners received an inflight tailgate party onboard a tricked out Boeing 747 "Go Russell!" themed aircraft, admission to the Super Bowl XLVIII game day party, two nights of hotel accommodations and transportation to and from Newark Liberty International Airport.
